General about concrete countertops
Kitchens get abused and thats a fact. In the rush of preparing your favourite meal you tend to smash the cabinet drawers, throw the pot in the sink or drop the hot pan on the countertop.
Through the years we made several countertops and learned the tricks to build durable tops for years to come.
They surely require maintenance care as any other surface would.
Due to its porous properties, concrete needs to be protected. For kitchens, we offer two types of protections:
Reactive sealer technology: The protection happens within the concrete. No risk of sealer delamination, maintenance is important (with countertop wax or care oils), develops a beautiful patina with time
Topical sealers: The surface of the concrete is coated with a durable layer of varnish.
High stain proof, if/when the coating gets damaged marks and scratches may appear.
INTEGRATED SINKS
The integrated sink is an option we make for most kitchen countertops. Due to the heavy abuse of sinks, we recommend to use sink bottoms (as pictured here under).
